One Health recognizes the interconnections and interdependencies of the health of humans, animals, plants, and the environment.
The COVID-19 pandemic has urged governments and policymakers to include the One Health approach as one of the fundamental pillars for post-pandemic resilience and for the safeguard of our planet. Our planet is a closed system in which resources are limited and thus a rebalanced and regenerative policy is critical to implement and operationalize novel policies that embrace this vision within the framework of the SDGs.
An integrated approach to promoting the health of humans, animals, plants, and the environment together is the beating heart of a broader approach to health which requires an expanded multidisciplinary convergence effort encompassing economic and financial, technological, societal and cultural, and international policies around one goal, which is the co-advancement of the health as a system in a circular manner. This is Circular Health.
This initiative has several working groups and research projects working towards attaining the Sustainable Development Goals. We have identified three overarching themes of our research:
Gender by Default, Citizen Empowerment, and Interdisciplinarity
Our research is also divided into three "hubs", click on them below to navigate between projects and learn more!
Circular Health is being developed by a diverse group of like-minded researchers that span international borders, academia, and industries, such as CERN, University of Oslo, the GovLab at New York University, Bocconi University, and much more!
